- Staying at Terminal 2 – the Sheraton Hotel
- Hotels within walking distance of Terminal 1/3
- Hotels a little further away but accessible via the CDGVAL (PR parking lot)
- Hotels with shuttle service: a little further from the airport but often cheaper
- In short: which hotel should you choose depending on your situation?
- Helpful tip: book early, especially during peak season
Since I travel quite a bit, I often find myself sleeping in airports. Well, in airport hotels, that is 😀 In Norway and Peru, for example. When I don’t have much time, i.e. one night or two at most, I prefer to sleep close to the airport rather than in the city.
After all, I have to go back to the airport to leave, so why lug my bags around on public transportation to get there and back? And sometimes it’s just a layover with no sightseeing, so I need to be efficient and get as much sleep as possible before my flight the next morning.
On several occasions, I’ve had to book a night in a hotel at Paris Roissy airport for my family or myself. At first, I thought it was going to be a real hassle, that we’d have to go far away, that it would cost an arm and a leg… but actually, not at all!
I was surprised to see that there were quite a few options very close to the departures area without having to sell a kidney, which is great. So, not everything is equal, but frankly, it’s good value for money. And without having to walk for an hour.
Just a reminder: Charles de Gaulle Airport is a huge airport with three terminals (T1, T2, T3) connected by the CDGVAL, a free automated shuttle that runs continuously. Most of the most convenient hotels are located in the Roissypôle area, at the exit of the RER station “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1,” right next to T3.
If you are departing from T2, you can either take the CDGVAL to Roissypôle (a few minutes) or opt for the Sheraton, the only hotel truly integrated into T2.
Let’s take a look at all the options! And if you want to skip ahead, there is a summary table at the end.
Staying at Terminal 2 – the Sheraton Hotel
Well, I thought there would be more. I have to admit that since it’s not really within my budget, I didn’t look into Terminal 2, which is the terminal for major international airlines, next to Air France, and the most convenient option.
There’s only one hotel in Terminal 2: the Sheraton. And honestly, I thought it would be more expensive than that!
- Prices range from €180 to €240 for a double room, depending on the time of year and whether you book at the last minute.
- Breakfast: this is where it gets tricky. It’s very good, but costs €40, which is quite a lot.
- The view: if, like me, you like airplanes, you can enjoy a view of the runways (takeoff and landing), without any noise! Okay, it’s not a beach view, but for an airport, it’s not bad 😀
- Super convenient: in the center of T2, easy to access, quick to get to, check in, and leave.
Basically, it does what you want it to do, ideal for a layover in Paris when you don’t want to stress out, and without breaking the bank!

Hotels within walking distance of Terminal 1/3
Hotels within walking distance These hotels are all located in the Roissypôle-Est area, just outside the RER station “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1.” For travelers arriving on T3, it’s a 2- to 5-minute walk. For those arriving at T1, simply take the CDGVAL to the “Terminal 3 – Roissypôle” station (5 minutes, free of charge). If you are at T2, take the CDGVAL and walk for a few minutes.
These are convenient, very popular hotels, if you are not going to the Sheraton (much more expensive, but more convenient in T2). Terminal 1/3
Novotel Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the closest hotel to the RER station, less than 100 meters from exit 5. You can’t miss it: signs will guide you there directly from the airport terminal.
The Novotel is spacious and reliable, with family-friendly rooms, a restaurant, and an indoor pool. It offers a good balance of quality and affordability, especially if you are traveling with heavy luggage or children.
Approximate price: between €120 and €200 per night.
Radisson Blu CDG Airport Terminal — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Formerly the Pullman, the Radisson Blu has undergone a transformation and moved upmarket. Exit 3 from the RER station, approximately 150 meters away. The main attraction: an indoor swimming pool—ideal for unwinding before a long flight or after a tiring layover. The rooms are large and well equipped.
Approximate price: between €130 and €220 per night.
Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Access via exit 1, approximately 150-200 meters away. A solid 4-star hotel, offering the chain’s standard amenities: soundproofed rooms, restaurant, heated indoor pool. Very popular with business travelers, so prices vary greatly depending on the day of the week.
Approximate price: between €120 and €200 per night.
CitizenM Paris Charles de Gaulle — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
By far the best value for money in the area. citizenM is a concept: compact but ultra-well-designed rooms (large bed, home automation via your smartphone, Netflix on a big screen), a stylish lobby open 24 hours a day, a nice bar—all for a price well below that of a traditional 4-star hotel.
Access via exit no. 1, about 250 meters away (the “furthest” of the group, but still very reasonable). A 3-minute walk from the T3 tram.
Approximate price: between €90 and €160 per night. Definitely my favorite in this area.
ibis Paris CDG Airport — ⭐⭐⭐
A safe bet for those on a budget. The ibis is huge (772 rooms), right across from the T3 tramway and next to the RER station. No frills, but clean, functional, with 24-hour reception and on-site parking. If you just need a place to lay your head for a few hours before catching your flight, this is perfect.
Approximate price: between €80 and €120 per night.
ibis Styles Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport — ⭐⭐⭐
The slightly more stylish little brother of the classic ibis, in the same Roissypôle-Est area. More colorful rooms, breakfast included in some rates, bar open until midnight. A good compromise between budget and comfort. Same accessibility on foot.
Approximate price: between €80 and €130 per night.
Hotels a little further away but accessible via the CDGVAL (PR parking lot)
These establishments are located in the Roissypôle-Ouest area, around the CDGVAL “Parking PR” station—one stop away from the T1 and three stops away from the T2. A partially covered pedestrian walkway connects the station to these hotels.
INNSiDE by Meliá Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Located next to the T1 PR parking lot, 200 meters from the CDGVAL shuttle. Contemporary design, spacious rooms, highly rated by couples. A beautiful location, slightly less popular than the hotels in Roissypôle-Est, so sometimes less expensive.
Approximate price: between €100 and €180 per night.
Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport — ⭐⭐⭐
Please note: Moxy is located on an upper floor, accessible by stairs or a long ramp—not very practical if you have large suitcases. If you’re traveling light, it’s a fun and affordable option with a lively bar. Otherwise, opt for citizenM.
Approximate price: between €90 and €130 per night.
Residence Inn by Marriott CDG Central — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ideal for slightly longer stays, with apartment-style rooms equipped with a kitchenette. Same area (Roissypôle-Ouest, Parking PR station). Highly rated by couples and families.
Approximate price: between €110 and €190 per night.
Mercure Paris CDG Airport & Convention — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Also located in the Roissypôle-Ouest area, with an indoor swimming pool and CDGVAL access just a 5-minute walk away. The rooms are decorated with a Parisian haute couture theme—a detail that sets it apart from your average airport hotel. More geared towards business travelers.
Approximate price: between €80 and €190 per night.
Hotels with shuttle service: a little further from the airport but often cheaper
These hotels are located in the outskirts of Roissy-en-France (Allée du Verger), Le Mesnil-Amelot, or Paris Nord 2. Allow 15 to 30 minutes by shuttle to reach the terminals. Most offer a free shuttle service—but check the timetables, as some do not run at night.
The shuttles stop at two points:
- Terminal 2B/2D for the T2 terminals
- Roissypôle (near T3) for the T1 and T3 terminals
Paris Marriott Charles de Gaulle Airport — ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The area’s large 5-star hotel, located in Roissy-en-France in the Allée du Verger area. Free shuttle service from 6 a.m. to midnight (last pick-up at the terminal). Large restaurant, 24-hour gym, 24 meeting rooms, sauna. This is the luxury option—ideal for a business trip or to treat yourself. The shuttle ride takes between 10 and 15 minutes.
Approximate price: between €150 and €300 per night.
Campanile Roissy-en-France — ⭐⭐⭐
Free shuttle service to the terminals. Good value for money for those on a budget who don’t want to pay the high prices charged by Roissypôle. Restaurant on site, free parking.
Approximate price: between €60 and €100 per night.
Holiday Inn Paris CDG Airport — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Located in the village of Roissy-en-France, 10 minutes from the airport by shuttle bus. A well-rated option, offering a good level of comfort for its price range.
Approximate price: between €90 and €150 per night.
B&B Hôtel Paris Roissy CDG — ⭐⭐
The most economical option with shuttle service. Perfect for an unpretentious overnight stay. Clean, functional, accessible.
Approximate price: between €50 and €80 per night.

Helpful tip: book early, especially during peak season
There you go! Now you know almost everything! There’s bound to be something for you, a hotel that suits you. However, as Roissy CDG is one of the largest airports in Europe, hotels in Roissypôle are often fully booked or charge very high rates during busy periods (school holidays, July-August, trade show periods in Villepinte). Booking 2 to 4 weeks in advance will allow you to find much better rates than those offered at the last minute.
And if you have a choice between two terminals for your return flight, it may be worth checking which one is closest to your hotel—a few minutes more or less on the CDGVAL train can make a difference at 5 a.m.
