Got an early morning flight out of Orly, a late arrival, or do you simply want to avoid Paris public transport at impossible hours? Good news, it’s really simple.
Unlike Roissy CDG where the hotel offering is more spread out, Orly concentrates its best hotels within a tight perimeter — and some are within walking distance straight from the terminals.
Here’s how to find your way around depending on what you’re after.
What you need to know before booking
Since 2019, Orly airport has merged its two former terminal buildings into a single terminal split into four zones: Orly 1, 2, 3 and 4. The old “Orly Sud” and “Orly Ouest” no longer exist — do check which terminal number matches your flight. Then again, walking from terminal 3 to terminal 1 takes all of… 5 long minutes, so it’s fine!
The closest hotels are clustered in the Cœur d’Orly zone, right next to the terminals. For Orly 4, it’s walkable via a motorised covered walkway (around 300 m). For Orly 1-2-3, the free car park shuttle bridges the gap in just a few minutes. But again, on foot it really isn’t far (and there’s a huge sign as you come out of the metro).
Since 2024, one new development changes everything: metro line 14 now connects Orly directly to Paris, with a terminus at Orly 3. This extension opens up a third option that few people know about yet: sleep in Paris and get to Orly by direct metro, no changes, in 20 to 35 minutes.
Hotels in the Cœur d’Orly zone — walkable from Orly 3 and 4
These are the three hotels closest to the airport. They share the same zone (Cœur d’Orly) and are walkable from Orly 4 via the covered walkway. For Orly 1-2-3, a short free shuttle (Navette Parking) does the trip in a few minutes. But even if you’d rather not take the shuttle, it’s only a few extra minutes on foot since T1 is 10 min max from T4. The airport really isn’t big.
A little tip few people know: the glass walkway linking the hotels to the airport lets you skip the shuttle entirely and reach the terminals without stepping outside — handy with luggage in the rain.
I’m giving you the 3 Cœur d’Orly hotels first so you can compare easily, then we’ll get into the details right after.

ibis budget Paris Cœur d’Orly Airport — ⭐⭐
The cheapest of the three, and clearly positioned as such. Compact but clean rooms, air-conditioned, with a bunk bed option for families. If all you need is a few hours’ sleep before a crack-of-dawn departure, it’s a perfectly reasonable option for the price. You can find excellent rates, under €80, but it can also climb to €110 easily enough — keep an eye on it.
- 300 m from Orly 4 via a covered walkway — no shuttle, no stepping outside
- From €75 / night
- ⭐ Booking rating: 7.7/10

ibis Paris Cœur d’Orly Airport — ⭐⭐⭐
The ibis in the Cœur d’Orly zone is the most balanced value for money of the airport range. Cheaper than the neighbouring Novotel, it’s still well rated by travellers (7.8/10 on Booking.com, more than 14,000 reviews). Restaurant and bar on site, 24-hour reception.
A practical detail few people know: the buffet breakfast starts at 4am. For a 6.30am flight, it’s hard to do better. Prices fluctuate a lot.
- A 3-minute walk from Terminal 4 via a motorised covered passage
- From €75 / night
- ⭐ Booking rating: 7.6/10

Novotel Paris Cœur d’Orly Airport — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the best positioned hotel in terms of comfort in the airport zone. 163 spacious rooms, restaurant, gym with a view over the runways — yes, you can watch the planes take off from a treadmill, it’s pretty unique. Staff available 24/7.
Travellers particularly appreciate the staff and the on-site dining options — handy when the airport restaurants have closed.
- A 5-minute walk from Terminal 4, free shuttle to T1-T2-T3
- From €130 / night
- ⭐ Booking rating: 8.3/10

Hotels reachable by shuttle — and by the T7 tram too
These hotels sit 5-15 minutes from the terminals. Most offer a free shuttle from the airport bus stops. But there’s one option few people make use of: the T7 tram, which links Orly 4 to the Orly Tech / Rungis zone and saves you waiting for the shuttle altogether.
The T7 stop on the airport side is just outside Orly 4 (door 12). On the hotel side, the Hélène Boucher and Saarinen stops serve several properties directly — handy if you’re on a tight schedule.
These 4 hotels are better than the Cœur d’Orly ones (well, except the Novotel, which is good but pricier than these), a bit cheaper, but a touch further out.

My favourite in the zone for comfort without excess. It stands out for its dual accessibility: a free shuttle to the airport from 4.30am, and a T7 tram stop 50 metres away — which gets you to Orly 4 in 7 minutes without waiting for anything. The great Rungis classic. More spacious than the Novotel Cœur d’Orly, with an outdoor pool open from May to September on top. The free shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 5.15am to 11pm. A regular haunt of business travellers who keep coming back — which says a lot.

Sleeping in Paris on line 14 — direct access to Orly
This is the new development few people have worked into their travel habits: since line 14 was extended to Orly 4, sleeping in Paris and catching your flight from Orly the next morning has become a genuinely credible option. No €50 taxi, no shuttle to wait for at 5am — just the metro, direct, in 20 to 35 minutes depending on the station.
The line serves Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand (13th), Bercy / Cour Saint-Émilion (12th) and Gare de Lyon (12th), among others. Ideal if you’ve got a day in Paris before a flight, or if you land at a reasonable hour and would rather sleep right in the heart of the capital.

Practical tip: book early, especially in high season
The Cœur d’Orly hotels are often full on the eve of big getaway days — school holidays, the May bank holiday weekends, July and August. If you know you’re taking an early morning flight, book as soon as you have your plane ticket. Rates climb fast as the date approaches, and the 3 walkable hotels have a limited number of rooms.
For the line 14 hotels in Paris, there’s more flexibility — the supply is far bigger. But the citizenM and the Choiseul Opéra are often fully booked on busy weekends.
- Head this way if you’re looking for hotels near Roissy airport!
